Our methodology is unique in its activities, goals and attainments. Though theoretical inputs are essential to any business management programme we do not give it undue emphasis as others do. Our stress is on the overall development of the personality of the individual. We believe that the old concepts of management are no more relevant in the current scenario because the technological changes and innovations are fast transforming the very basis of the concept of management. Today, what one will need is the skill to manage people. How effective one is in goals set for oneself, decide one's success as a manager. Infact, the following additional inputs contribute significantly in making the learning process highly integrated. The Syllabus is reviewed, analysed every year to maintain track on latest issues, a process ad-infinitum. Laptop with Every Student The Wi-Fi campus of Ishan has provided mobility to the students to use internet facilities anywhere any time in the campus. Every student has got laptop with latest configuration 1.73 centrino mobile with Wi-Fi facilities. The student can multiply their knowledge base by searching different websites, Preparing case studies, presentations, writing analytical articles, and to keep themselves update with the latest issues. CASE STUDY : The Stimulation Method : IIMT brings the complex realities of business into the classroom through the powerful medium of case studies; both actual and stimulated. It is an interactive process which stimulates the expertise and hidden potential of the budding managers making them more confident to deal with the practical problems typical to the corporate world. IIMT cases, are first hand account of the actual management situation. The critical point of the cases are the problems that erupt in the work place, and it involves organizations ranging from high-tech startups to Governmental units. The Institute has undertaken the task of developing comprehensive case studies in Fundamental and Functional management areas. Apart from this, the consultancy service provided by the Institute offers an opportunity to the faculty for case development which enriches the classroom teaching and thus, contributing to the process of integrated learning.
Guest Lectures and Panel Discussions In addition to our full time and part time faculty, eminent people from business, industry and Professors are invited to address the students on a regular basis. These guest speakers bring with them not only the long years of experience and knowledge but also the latest trends in business management to their wholesale development. They are in the arena of 'know better'. Students are highly benefitted by these activities. Internship Project work is another important activity of IIMT for the fulfillment of our objective of Integrated Learning. Knowledge from the books remains dormant until it is put to use and its efficacy proved to be progressive. Project work also provides the key to successful development of managerial skills. At IIMT, project work is inter-woven in the course curriculum of every semester. Students are advised and counseled to choose the meaningful projects at various industrial houses. Complete guidance and support is provided by the managers related to the industry and our experienced faculty members. Some highly appreciated project works have been done by our students with the active involvement of many MNCs and reputed Indian business houses highlighting current business problems of reputed organizations. The projects of our students elevates as of Ph.D standard. During the course a student has to complete 3 main projects. (1) Marketing Research Project; (2) Summer Project (3) Final Project Management Debates Debates are organized by the students to share their views upon technical and conceptual issues of managers & computer applications. Different teams from different classes, organize such debates regularly and some times the teams from other Institutes are also invited. There has been a youthful exercise in bringing the new talents and new idea on a common platform.
Seminars / Workshops Keeping pace with the fast changing economic and political scenario across the country many in particular and international level in general are the key factors of success for any upcoming manager. Hence, participation in seminars, workshops by management trainee or practicing manager is a step forward in right direction as it not only updates his knowledge but also expands the horizon of his vision. With this end in view, it has become a continuous effort on the part of Institute's management to hold a large number of seminars and workshops as is possible. The Institute has organized more than 100 seminars in 10 years on different issues and achieved excellence through paper presentation. The main attraction of these seminars have been the active participation through paper presentation by IIMT student who are encouraged and guided by the IIMT faculty.
Industrial Visits At Ishan, we believe that Students visit industries, in order to get a first hand view of industrial processes. Industrial observation is an important element of education and gives students an essential insight into the application of their theoretical knowledge. The Greater Noida is second and largest industrial township in the counrty, provide opportunities to visit MNC’s and largestrial industries. In addition, students are assigned short-term projects with various organizations to get exposure. The activities ensure multidimensional development of students, giving them an edge over others in terms of industrial exposure. As business and community leaders, IIMTs graduates can exert profound influence on the world. The Management Program seeks to develop students' understanding of the role of business in society and the responsibilities of business leaders within their companies and society at large. As students analyse cases in each course at IIMT, they are encouraged to develop action plans that are organizationally effective and ethically sound as well as economically attractive. During the Management Program, students begin to dialogue about the responsibilities of corporate leaders and the values that contribute to personal and organizational excellence. They also have the opportunity to critically explore different theories of corporate purpose and different approaches for decision making. As a result, students tend to see how organizational factors influence individual behaviour, how leaders shape organizational values, and how organizational value systems in turn relate to organizational effectiveness. Academic Progress and Evaluation The IIMT Learning Model combines individual preparation; reinforcement of this preparation through small, face-to-face study groups; class participation; and reflection and integration of the material.To support students in these efforts, faculty provides ongoing formalk and informal feedback on learning, subject mastery, and individual performance. This process encompasses various forms of evaluation from in class and out-of-class examinations and papers to faculty-to-student and student-to-student assessments. The Management Program provides a range of academic and personal resources to help students improve their academic performance if needed.These resources may be tailored to meet individuals needs, and students are encouraged to seek assistance as early as possible. Ph.D. Programme The Institute offers opportunity to research scholars, both regular and practicing managers, to conduct their Ph.D researches in different areas of management under the guidance of the senior faculty members. Moulding Young Leaders As business and community leaders, IIMTs graduates can exert profound influence on the world. Career Counseling Apart from regular bulletins, announcements on openings and articles that come up on the notice boards, there is a special lecture series call "Ice-Age.The opportunities". 'I' for Information and Internet, 'C' for computer and communication and 'E' education and Entertainment.These lectures are generally given by leaders from different fields who can provide authentic information and be inspiring role models to youngsters.
